Queen Victoria Looks Smashing in Pink

For this special visit to Sydney, Cunard's Queen Victoria berthed at the Overseas Passenger Terminal at Circular Quay. Sydney's iconic Opera House was not only an attraction for the passengers, but for the special visit it would also serve as a stunning backdrop for the ship's spectacular evening transformation.
Queen Victoria arrived early on Friday morning for its overnight stay at Sydney. On the way into Sydney, it sailed by the Opera House and hundreds of passengers were up early to get their pictures.
The ship was berthed at the Overseas Passenger Terminal for its two-day stay in Sydney, approximately the mid-point of its world cruise.
Friday night (February 19, 2010), Cunard created another traffic-stopping spectacle for the city of Sydney. In honor of the fundraiser being held aboard for the National Breast Cancer Foundation, Queen Victoria was bathed in pink light, which appeared to turn the entire ship pink, from dusk until about 11pm.
“Pink has become synonymous with the fight against breast cancer," said Ann Sherry, the CEO of Carnival Australia, "so I was delighted to offer NBCF the opportunity to boost awareness of research and claim a world first by being the first to illuminate a liner in pink."
