| Carnival Dream is beginning to take shape at
Fincantieri's Monfalcone
yard. In the photo above you can see the bow section with the
bulbous bow next to it waiting to be attached. The sequence below shows
how blocks of the superstructure are lifted from the ground by
Fincantieri's giant rolling crane, moved over on it horizontally and
then lowered into place on the ship.
The 130,000-ton Carnival Dream is set for delivery in September 2009. It will enter service in Europe on September 21 and then begin year round 7-day Caribbean service from Port Canaveral on December 5, 2009. |
